The Play
Jerry Greisinger, two years home from World War II, still harbors an uneasy feeling that all is not quite right – that something sinister still lurks beneath middle-class America’s freshly-painted façade. In a world where a veneer of television antennas and sponge cake barely conceals the unspoken fears of a nation, one man searches for – and finds – the secret.
The Playwright
Alan Brody is Professor of Theater Arts at MIT. His award-winning plays including “Invention for Fa-
thers and Sons,” “The Company of Angels” and “The Housewives of Mannheim” have been produced at
such theaters as The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, The Aspen Playwrights Conference, The Live
Oak Theater in Austin, Texas and The Berkshire Theater Festival. A production of his play “Greytop in
Love” at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia starred Kim Hunter. Mr. Brody is also the author of
two novels, “Coming To” (1973) and “Hey Lenny, Hey Jack” (1975).
